Summary: "The manner in which Tseng came to acquire the one-time great general was as inconsequential as picking up a piece of litter on the ground." Tseng, Vincent, and the handling of things left undone.
Notes: So drakonlily and I started writing this because we had some silly conversations and decided it was about time we made sense of a few things. Plus, we overall dislike most redemption stories that we see around, so we figured we'd do it our way--with black humor and our brand of logic. Next chapter will be the fun one, because it's the other POV--Cid. Because Cid is awesome. The alternate working title of this was "Damn Wutes" if that gives you any indication of the direction this is going. XD Also, this is very very very loosely based on Dirge canon--we're going to steal a few of the characters and probably Computerized!Hojo, but if you were expecting delving into the Tragic Love Story, it's not here. I like Lu too much to turn her into a sobbing crystaline mess.

Note: I've noticed certain Turk fanon is rather common, and I like making fun of it. XD I blame tijuana_pirate and astralavator for this. Might also be an excuse to give Shera, yanno, a life.

Characters/Pairings: Veld, Rufus, Tseng, Felicia, with some brief mention of Veld's wife and ex-boyfriend and likely some odd tensions between Tseng and Rufus when I wasn't looking.
Rating: PG-13
Summary: It figured that the first Shinra Veld might have respected was the one that had tried the hardest to dispose of him.
Notes: So I realized I don't actually write Veld much during the actual Before Crisis timeline, but I've never been much of an ingame fic writer. I lifted a few lines from the script, because they were a couple of the brilliant ones. I kind of wrote this because I like how Turk loyalty seems to have had a paradigm shift between Veld and Tseng's being in charge. Also, this is me making peace with OGC!Rufus, who really annoyed me, but I liked him in AC. So, sort of tying the two together. Having written this, I no longer have any characters from the original FF7 I do not like. It's a weird feeling. Title is a play on the song "The Road to Mandalay" by Robbie Williams, which is sort of the most Veldish song I have come across in the history of ever. This has been sitting on my harddrive for ages, and because I'm under stress, I suddenly finished it. Now if only I could finish the things I'm SUPPOSED to be writing. Maybe it's telling that I revert to Veld when under stress. XD
